The Goddess

I am a goddess,
a rag to clean the floor,
a girl leaning out of the window waiting for a miracle,
for a new day.

I am a goddess,
someone confused, damaged,
who doesn't find what she's searching for,
who doesn’t know how to search,
that wastes time.

I am a goddess,
a goddess on a stained altar,
useless, broken,
a goddess who no-one has worshipped,
who does not inspire Faith,
or feelings,
a mortal goddess,
a rag to clean the floor.

English translation by Paul Archer of 'La Diosa' by Conchi da Silva.

La Diosa

Soy una diosa,
un trapo de limpiar el suelo,
una niña asomada a la ventana esperando un milagro,
un día nuevo.

Soy una diosa,
alguien confuso, estropeado,
que no encuentra lo que busca,
que no sabe buscar,
que pierde el tiempo.

Soy una diosa,
una diosa en un altar manchado,
inútil, roto,
una diosa que nadie ha venerado,
que no despierta Fe,
ni sentimientos,
una diosa mortal,
un trapo para limpiar el suelo.
