The Gardener

Rudi came unannounced "Will you let me in?"
His scooter parked in the lane, hand on the gate's latch.
He felt the orange tree leaves, sniffed them.
They don't look happy, what should we do about them?
"All they need, is water... water... water."

"How long will you be staying here?" As much as we can,
A week a month. "That's more than other clients,
Their homes are empty most of the time. That's something
I'll never understand." He flicked back his long hair.
"All I need is one house... one garden... one woman".
