Late at night

A duet for male and female voices

(M)
Late at night
When I’m on my own
I think of all the love
That I have known.
Late at night
Memories gather round
And the ticking of the clock
Is the only sound.
So many men
Must have felt this way,
Thing seem so different
From in the day.
So, at last,
We feel a peace inside,
So much we did,
So much we tried.
Late at night
When the sky is clear
You seem so far away
And yet so near.

(F)
Late at night
I know you’re out there
The man who will be mine
Out there, somewhere.
Late at night
Before the day’s begun
I need you more than ever,
More than anyone.
There’s nothing to touch us now,
We could be the only ones alive,
That’s how I feel
Late at night.

(M+F)
Oh, so many
Must have felt this way,
Things seems so different
From in the day.
So, at last,
We feel a peace inside,
So much we did,
So much we tried.
There’s nothing to touch us now,
We could be the only ones alive,
That’s how I feel
Late at night,
Late at night.
